Safari Overview
This wildlife holiday safari will reward you with all around Uganda tour viewing different types of wildlife species such as Big five, mountain Gorillas starting from Mabira Forest to the source of the Nile where white water rafting is done, through to Murchison Falls National Park, Kibale National park, Semuliki Hot Springs, Queen Elizabeth National park, Bwindi impenetrable National park, Lake Bunyonyi, Lake Mburo National park and Uganda wildlife education centre (UWEC). You will relax at Ssesse island beaches as well as Ngamba Island a chimpanzee Sanctuary on Lake Victoria.

Tour Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival at the Airport
After arrival at Entebbe International Airport, meet the safari guide of Select Safaris Africa. Later be transferred to the preferred Hotel. Overnight at the Serena Hotel/Cassia Lodge/Holiday Express Hotel.

Day 02: Drive to Mabira Forest Eco-tourist site
Have a morning breakfast and carry out a city tour in Kampala; visit the Uganda Museum, the parliament, the Namirembe cathedral, Kasubi tombs, Bahai temple and many others. After lunch, prepare for a transfer to Mabira Ecotourism site for an overnight at the Rain Forest Lodge, at the heart of Mabira forest.

Day 03: Forest walk and Transfer to Jinja town
After breakfast, take a forest walk through this huge and beautiful forest with the guide of the forest ranger. When forest walking, you will view different bird species such as Great Blue Turaco and the Black and White casqued hornbill, Greenbuls, Tinker birds, African Grey, African Emerald Cuckoo, Black and the Yellow bill cuckoos among others. After lunch, relax at the picnic site as we prepare to transfer to Jinja. Dinner and overnight at Jinja Nile Resort.

Day 04: Source of the Nile and Bujagali falls
After breakfast, visit the source of the Nile. This tour to the Nile will take you through a memorable adventure. Have lunch and go for white water rafting over the high grade rapids of the Mighty River Nile. Return to Kampala, arriving late in the evening. Overnight at Cassia Lodge/Holiday Express Hotel. .

Day 05: Transfer Northwards to Murchison Falls
Drive northwards to Murchison Falls National Park after breakfast. The park is located in the north-western part of the country. This charming drive will pass you through the 1980's famous battle zone of the Luweero Triangle. You will have a lunch stop over at Masindi town and then proceed to the Murchison Falls, the most beautiful falls on the river Nile. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge/ Sambiya River Lodge/ Red Chili Rest Camp

Day 06: Game Drive and Launch Cruise
After breakfast, go for a morning game drive on the southern banks of the river. The morning drive will take you through different habitats. On the drive, you will clear to see different animals which include giraffes, Hartebeest, Elephants, Bushbucks, Lion, Jackal and many others. After lunch, you will carry out a launch cruise and will view concentration of Hippos on the banks of the river. For the birders, a variety of birds will be present such as the Pel's Fishing-Owl, king fishers. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge/ Sambiya River Lodge /Red Chili Rest Camp.

Day 07: Chimpanzee tracking in Kaniyo Pabidi
Depart from the park and head to Masindi Town for an overnight. Along the way, you will carry out a chimpanzee tracking in Kaniyo Pabidi Forest with in Budongo Forest. From this dense tropical rainforest, you will track chimpanzees-the closest relatives to humans. The forest also provides for the birders, a chance to see a variety of birdlife. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge/ Sambiya River Lodge /Red Chili Rest Camp

Day 08: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
After breakfast, you will embark on a long drive to Fort Portal, a beautiful town overlooking the mountains of the Chimpanzee in Ugandamoon. Taking the Western scenic route to Kibale National Park, this journey will take you through the Albertine rift found in the Western arm of Great East African rift valley. Reaching Fort Portal early evening, relax and refresh at the Lodge. Dinner and overnight at Ndali lodge/ Rwenzori View Guest house/Kanyankyu Ecological site

Day 09: Chimpanzee tracking
Have an early morning breakfast and drive to the park headquarters for the chimpanzee briefing by the forest guide. You will locate the chimps by listening for their pant-hooting calls, then hustle to the area from which they are calling. After lunch, head for a Bigodi swamp walk, where you will see more primates such as the red colobus, black and white colobus and the red-tailed monkey. Over 138 different bird life including the great blue turaco, plant species, and butterflies will be seen in the forest. Dinner and overnight at Ndali lodge/Rwenzori View Guest house /Kanyankyu Ecological site

Day 10: Head to Semliki National Park
Enroute to Semliki Wildlife Reserve which lies along the main fort Portal to Bundibugyo road, 52 km from Fort Portal. This is the only national park in Uganda where you can go for a night drive to view several cats, minuscule genet, white tailed mongoose and slim mongoose. After dinner, go on a night drive. This game drive will yield the nightjars which are very rare to see during the day and much nocturnal wildlife. Overnight at Semliki Safari Lodge.

Day 11: A boat trip on Lake Albert/birding
After breakfast, have a boat trip on Lake Albert with your packed lunch to see colonies of Red-throated bee-eaters dart, Spot-breasted Ibis, Hartlaubs's Duck, Chestnut-flanked Goshawk, Red-thighed Sparrowhawk, Long-tailed Hawk, Forest Francolin, Nkulengu Rail, Western Bronze-napped Pigeon, Black-collared Lovebird, and many others. Have lunch at the waterfalls which provide a great picnic spot. Have views of several fishing villages along the way, and a visit at the tribal community at the foothills of the Rwenzoris, where the locals look forward to welcoming and entertaining visitors. Return to the lodge for dinner and relaxation. Overnight at Semliki Safari Lodge (FB).

Day 12: Transfer to Kibale Forest
You will have a morning drive to Sempaya hot springs. The hot spring is dominated by a boiling geyser which spurts up to 2m-high from a white, iced cake-like base of precipitated mineral. The more inner spring is reached by a 30minute trail that lead through beautiful palm forest before croosing the swamp on a boardwalk. After, head for Fort Portal to visit the Kings Royal Tombs and various ethnic groups and Villages around. A memorable visit will be to the Burungu community and overnight at Ndali lodge/ Rwenzori View Guest house /Primate Lodge Cottages.

Day 13: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and a boat trip
After breakfast, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will have a game drive while entering the park. Animals like leopards, warthogs, antelope species, lions, buffaloes, hyenas, and elephants. On your arrival, have lunch and proceed for the launch cruise on the Kazinga Channel. Different animals that come to drink water at the channel and water birds will be viewed along the shores. Dinner and Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/ Kingfisher lodge/ Institute of Ecology

Day 14: Game drives
After a cup of coffee, for an early morning game drive along Kasenyi tracks and Queens mile in the park. You will see lions, elephants, cape buffalos, warthogs, spotted hyenas, mongoose, waterbucks, Kobs and many more. Drive back to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, drive to Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth via Maramagambo Forest for dinner and overnight at Ishasha Wilderness Camp, Savannah Hotel/ Kyambura Gorge Fig Tree Camp.

Day 15: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
After breakfast, take a game drive on a search of the famous tree climbing lions which are always spotted clinging on old fig trees. Proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Forest found in the southern part of the country. On your arrival, you will relax at the lodge while preparing for the gorillas the next day. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Resort/ Lake Kitandara Lodge /Buhoma Community bandas.

Day 16 & 17: Gorilla tracking
Early in the morning after breakfast and briefing by a ranger guide, enter into the Gorilla Forest for your adventure. The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but criss-crossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. Mammals in the forest include the endangered mountain gorilla, rare golden monkey, buffalo, elephant, black fronted duiker, bushbuck, leopard, giant forest hog and many others. The park is known for its fascinating gorillas. The time taken and the terrain vary according to the movements of these marvelous primates. The thrill of spending time and observing the gorillas is a rare moving, awesome and exciting adventure. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Resort/Lake Kitandara Lodge/ Buhoma Community bandas

Day 18: Head to Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast, you will take an attractive drive to Kabale, seeing the beautiful rolling hills with terraced landscape. The panorama views and the cool temperatures have regarded this area to be known as the "Switzerland of Africa". You will have a stopover in Kabale to discover the people's culture at the "Bakiga" museum. On your arrival, have lunch and head for a boat trip on Africa's second deepest lake. On the boat ride, you will view bird life and scenery. Dinner and overnight at Bunyonyi Safari Resort/ Lake Bunyonyi Overland Camp

Day 19: Enroute to Lake Mburo
After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Mburo National Park. You will have lunch enroute in Mbarara and later take an evening game drive in the park. When game driving, you will clearly see impalas, zebras, buffalos, topis, elands, oribis and many others. Along with the game drive, many visitors also enjoy a boat trip on Lake Mburo. A number of acacia associated and water birds can also be seen in the park. These include Papyrus gonoleks, Brown-faced lapwings, Carruther's cisticolas, the extraordinary White winged Warbler and Bare-faced Go-away bird. Dinner and overnight at Mantana Tented Camp/ Rwonyo Rest Camp

Day 20: Game drive and back to Kampala
Today have an early morning breakfast and head for a game drive while proceeding back to Kampala. You will have an enroute lunch and a stopover at the Equator to take some photos, arriving late evening in Kampala late evening. Dinner and Overnight at Cassia Lodge/ Holiday Express Hotel.

Day 21: Visit UWEC (Uganda Wildlife Education Centre) and Botanical gardens
On this day you will be transferred to Uganda Wildlife Education Centre, Entebbe. You will view different primates like the colobus monkey, olive monkey, Patas monkey, Vervet monkey, Grey checked monkey, Red-tailed monkey, baboon, Chimpanzee and others. You will also see different hoof stocks, reptiles, carnivores and a lot of birdlife. After Lunch, you will visit the botanical gardens, where by different plant species will be seen. Overnight at Lake Victoria Hotel, Windsor/ Sophie's motel

Day 22: Transfer to Ssese Island
After breakfast, head to Entebbe and board a ferry to Ssese Island on Lake Victoria. It will take you 1 hour by speed boat from the mainland. Those that are interested in fishing can carry it out. There are beautiful sandy beaches, safe and scheduled swimming areas and forest walks for viewing wildlife and exotic birds. Overnight at Mirembe Resort Beach.

Day 23: Head to Ngamba Island and carry out the chimpanzee activities
After breakfast, head back to the mainland and later transfer to Ngamba Islands at 09:00hours. The 45-minute boat trip using a speed boat will give you a good experience on water while heading to the Chimpanzee home in the Camp. Have the first chimpanzee feeding at 1100 hours and one may have an optional of birding after lunch or the second chimpanzee feeding at 1400 hours. Have dinner and overnight at Ngamba Island tented Camp.

Day 24: Departure
Have an early breakfast and head for a forest walk at 06:00 hours and then at 08:00 return to the mainland at Entebbe. Transfer to the Airport to find your departure flight.
